I have a requirement to configure AI Search on our Employee Center portal so that Business Applications are searchable.
I am trying to create an Indexed Source record (ais_datasource) on the Business Application table (cmdb_ci_business_app) however the table is not listed in the "Source" field. I tried changing the application scope from 'Global' to the application where this table belongs (Enterprise Architecture) as per KB0714334 however this didn't change anything.
Can anyone help me to understand if this is intentional, and how I can configure this as per my requirement?
Many Thanks.

Hi @richardyaxl ,
Change the application scope to "Global" and try again.

Hi Sandeep,
Thanks for the response, however as mentioned in my post I have already tried this and it didn’t change anything.
Thanks

Hi @richardyaxl ,
I have a similar requirement and it appears this is not currently possible. As of writing this, I don't believe AI Search can be configured on the cmdb table or any table extending it.
Here is a link to the docs listing all excluded tables:
ServiceNow AI Platform® tables excluded from AI Search indexing
@MarcB1 's reply on this post can help shed some more light on the issue:

The only workaround I am currently aware of is to configure NLQ Genius Results to allow Natural Language Queries against the CMDB, which will show up above the tabs in AI Search. This is definitely not ideal and likely won't help in this use case, but I figured it was worth mentioning here.
ServiceNow does not seem to have a written guide for this, but I stumbled into a video they made for activating and configuring the NLQ Genius Results feature for Next Experience Global Search:
