Unable to get email digest

Hi, 

I have a requirement where the ask is that the emails form a particular table should be summarized  in one email. 

I went through email digest, and was trying to figure out how it works, I gave an interval of an hour and also enabled , email digest from notification preferences for the person who should have received the mail , but I am still unable to see the any digests in the email logs. What could be the issue?

I don't think email digest works at a table level, it works for a record but I just wanted to try it.

Is there any other way to summarize mails for a table ?

Please help.

Hi,

The out of box behavior is that the email digest would work for a specific notification and record and not for the entire table. Out of box, there's no other way to summarize all emails for a table unless you built a custom solution, which would be mostly complex in nature.

I just started reading up on Digests today and am very disappointed to learn they are limited to records and not applicable to tables... My use case is approval reminders - wanting to send a user (and manager) approval reminders after a certain period of time, but just include all the (late) approvals in a single email in case they had multiple.

I think there's probably even more use cases of these types of table-level digests - you clearly have some yourself - so it's a real shame that ServiceNow doesn't offer an ootb method like they do for record-level digests.

 

One way or another I think the custom solution starts with a mail script. I came upon this post before which shows how to create a custom table-level digest using a scheduled job and event which may be helpful for you if you're feeling adventurous: Digest Notifications - ServiceNow Community
