Hello Community,
I am working on enabling email integration in my ServiceNow PDI and need help troubleshooting incoming emails.
What I Have Done So Far
- Enabled Email Sending and Email Receiving in System Properties > Email.
- Created an SMTP Email Account for outgoing emails:
- Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Type: SMTP
- Authentication: Password
- User Name: Gmail Address
- Password: Gmail App password
- Tested connection: Successful
- Outgoing emails work perfectly. Notifications are sent and appear in Gmail Sent Items.
Incoming Email Setup
- Enabled POP in Gmail settings (confirmed by seeing IMAP options).
- Server: pop.gmail.com
- Port: 995
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Type: POP3
- Authentication: Password
- User Name: Gmail Address
- Password: Gmail App password
- Tested connection: Failed even POP was enabled in Gmail.
Issue
- When I send an email to the Gmail account configured for incoming mail, nothing appears under System Mailboxes > Inbound > Received.
Questions
- Is there any additional configuration required for PDI to fetch incoming emails?
- Do I need to manually trigger the Email Reader job?
- Are there any logs or troubleshooting steps to confirm why emails are not being pulled?
Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
swetha.

Thanks for your response.
Outgoing emails in my PDI are working perfectly. The challenge I’m facing is with configuring incoming emails. Despite setting up POP and enabling email receiving, I’m unable to see any emails under System Mailboxes > Inbound > Received after sending test emails to the configured Gmail account.
Regards,
Swetha.

Hi @swethavelu
The issue may be major if you are not sending it to the correct email address. Please make sure you send it only to the right email address. Also, I tried the same workaround and it worked for me. Another reason could be PDI, so I thought to try troubleshooting, but give it another try.
