Unable to See Widget Data in RITM After Catalog Item Submission

I’m working with catalog items and I’ve added a widget to the variables for a catalog item. However, after submitting the catalog item, I’m unable to see the widget data in the RITM. Has anyone experienced this before or know how to ensure that the widget data appears correctly in the RITM after submission? Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

What kind of widget do you mean? Widget isn't a valid variable type, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say you have added it to your variables.

if you have created a variable of type custom and associated a widget to it and if that widget has some html input, then that value is not retained as it's present within HTML section of widget.
That's OOB behavior for custom variable type where UI macro or widget is associated.
What's the business purpose to take input from widget html when you can use single line text variable?
