User clicks on checkout author is not able to edit the drafted version of the KB

User created KB in service now and published that KB and another user checkout that KB which will create new drafted version. is there any chance to change the author of that KB to user user checkout the Kb.

It is not possible and it is as per design. You can see the updated by only.
