When I (and many of my students - I'm a trainer) attempt to create a new user record in Madrid using Chrome, the User ID field gets populated with 'admin' and made read only. There's no ServiceNow functionality in place causing this behaviour, and in Firefox it works fine. Has anyone experienced this, or has any ideas of what's at play? Cached login name and password have been used.

Hi,
It's not read only. They simply need to click in that box and begin to type, but yes, it's a Chrome feature.
Turning Off Autofill in Chrome
Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three dots at top right of screen.)
Click on Settings.
In the "Autofill" section, expand the area for which you wish to disable Autofill.
Toggle the setting OFF if it is on. The system will automatically save your settings.

Hi Klein,
try in some other browser and check; it is dependent on browser as well
Did you try to do cache.do?
There is no functionality to auto-populate admin in the user_id field so try above methods
I have earlier faced this issue in chrome but not in firefox
Mark Correct if this solves your issue and also mark Helpful if you find my response worthy based on the impact.
Thanks
Ankur

Hi Ankur
Thanks, I was aware this was browser dependent, as I said it worked fine in Forefox. Therefore cache.do wouldn't do me much good. Apparently it's Chrome's autofill functionality causing this, which I had kinda suspected. Thanks anyway for your attention! 🙂

This problem usually happens when Chrome has saved your credentials (admin in this case) and then auto-populates some fields.
I believe you can disable this functionality in the Chrome settings.
