Using dynamic content block to display specific text

Good Morning Developers,

I am currently in the process of exploring the features available within myRQ to facilitate dynamic reporting. The end goal is for each team to provide their own summary for monthly reporting, which would be displayed in the dynamic content block when their 'department' and/or 'primary entity' is selected from one of the interactive filters.

I believe a dynamic content block is the best solution and I would like to present a business case to our dev team with as much supporting information as possible - if this is the best option. Some of these answers may be obvious to experienced users, so I would like to point out that coming from a reporting team & as someone who is not a developer, but with a good understand of coding and scripting principles/language, please bear with me!

The problem: How would I go about updating text in a dynamic content block based on the filter values a user selects on a ServiceNOW dashboard and what are your experiences with capturing storing the information to be used as dynamic 'user updates'??

Solution? My understanding is that a script would be required to check the selected value in the interactive filter when this is updated, to call on a table/data source with the required information? The second part of the puzzle being how the content is captured/stored in myRQ. Is the recommendation to capture this using a form in myRQ and store the data in a table that the script can call based on the values in the interactive filter?

Any advice or example is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Aaren
