Hi Mona.   I am the Product Manager for Subscription Management and Usage Analytics at ServiceNow and I want to make a correction to the responses that you have received to your plugin question.   The short answer is that not all available plug-ins are included with your subscription.

We have been working to improve transparency in this area.   Step one is to just provide the data on which plugins are core and available to all ServiceNow customers and which are additional functionality to a parent application.   Longer term, we will be launching a Subscription Management application that will allow you to see all of your ServiceNow subscriptions, including which applications are specifically included in the subscriptions. This information is in your order form, but that's not always available to your ServiceNow administrator.   In a later release we will then expand Subscription Management to include the validation of a related subscription when attempting to activate a plugin on a production environment.   This will prevent customers from inadvertently implementing a plugin in production that may incur additional subscription fees.

In the short term, the best first step is to check the ServiceNow Wiki or Product Documentation to confirm understanding of the plugin application and compare that to your current subscriptions.   When in doubt please contact your ServiceNow Sales contact.

Thank you,

Tabitha

Just noticed another thing... The active/inactive might be wrong depending if you got a clean geneva instance or upgrading. For example the standard change catalog is default active for a clean install, but if you upgrade to geneva it is inactive.

Data Archiving is a core platform plugin available to all customers at no additional charge.

Please be sure to read my more detailed overall response.   The responses received to your initial post were not actually completely correct.   Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Mona,

The above response is correct in how you can view the plugins available to you, but I would caution you against installing plugins without going through a review and testing period. For one thing, you cannot uninstall a plug-in, so even doing so in a Dev environment could result in a situation where you decide the changes it made are unwanted, and you would have to clone back over Dev to get rid of the plugin.

I would recommend always using a sandbox environment or developer instance to evaluate a plugin before introducing it even into your Dev environment.
