What are the types of fields that can be grouped by in list and what cannot be grouped by?

Hello experts,

I just want to know if you have any resource or documentation links on what are field types that are in default can be grouped and which cannot be grouped?

I just found that some field types cannot be grouped by in a list like the date, datetime and list type of fields but I cannot find a documentation on a list of all the types of fields that cannot be grouped by and can be grouped by default.

Hi @Rain Vaine ,

In a list view you cannot use the "Group by" functionality on columns if the String type if their maximum lenght is greater that 255 characters. The "Group by" context menu item is greyed out.

Hi @Rain Vaine ,

As per my understanding field types Collection, List, Time/Date, Journal, Journal Input/List, User Input doesn't allow group by on list view.

I think , doc shared by @Mayur2109 is only available and your comments also right Dates / journal field type like comments/ work notes can be group by.
