What is the difference between "updated by" and "Revised by" in KB articles?

Can someone know what is the exact difference between "updated by" and "Revised by" in KB articles.?
How they updated and differentiated between them. ?

Updated by shows the user who last updated the article (any field update)
The Revised By field displays the name of the user who checked out a published article and created a new version.

Hi,
When you have versioning enabled for knowledge articles and some one makes a copy or new version of knowledge article, The person who creates this copy or revises the article would be the Revised by user. The Updated by would be the last person who changed any data in your article.
Revised by is a reference field to user table but Updated by is String field showing the User id.

This is VERY helpful! But, do you know where the Revised by is located in the widget or elsewhere that can be disabled from being displayed and to ONLY have Authored by show at all times for the KB article in portal??
