@gautamvarma

so which state it should be moved to?

When an incident is created by default it's always in New

Why to change this behavior?

Hi @gautamvarma

I'm not facing this issue in my PDI. So it seems to be a customization.
Please check for the BRs created on the Incident table with the conditon "Parent Incident Changes & not empty"

when we create a child incident from parent incident here. directly when parent state is in inprogree its changing to new, but it shouldn`t change like that no.

Hi @gautamvarma

This is expected behavior. You are copying an incident, not creating a child incident. When you copy an incident from another, it only carries over a few fields and does not include the state. It wouldn't make sense to copy the state of the parent to the child, as the purpose of the child ticket might be different. Please check the properties.
