Where can I find more information (like database setup, web server, security etc..) about On Premises Servicenow instance

Does ServiceNow release new cloud version (like 'istanbul') and on premises version at the same time without any time gap?

Yes.   If you use the automated upgrade (going through HI), and version that you have access to is available to on prem installations.   If you need to do a manual upgrade, then you need to get access to the FTP site that has the upgrade Zip files.   These are usually up to date on an as needed basis, but if you are provisioned for a version, and need it via FTP, it will be made available to you.

Yes, Initial installation is what SN does, rest everything you have to do   yourself but there is no difference in the version releases/patches or functionality.

When I was working at a company with an on-prem instance within the last year, there was a site dedicated to on-prem instances, but I can't remember it now, and I am not sure whether they discontinued the site, but I can definitely say it was incredibly helpful. t_anurag, since you are still there, do you happen to recall the URL to that site.

Also, I will ask my friend at SNOW that will definitely know the answer, and get back to you as soon as I hear back.

The old selfhost site no longer seems to exist (like you I have no idea if it was replaced with something else). That site was only accessible if you truly were a self hosted customer.   You are absolutely right that the site had a wealth of information, even if it only had 12-15 documents on it, but it covered architecture, setup and maintenance.
