Hi @shabbir5 ,
To discover all devices into ServiceNow CMDB, you’d use Discovery with a MID Server:
ServiceNow Discovery scans IP ranges, uses configured credentials (Windows, SSH, SNMP, etc.), and identifies devices finally updating the CMDB.
MID Server placement: You don’t need a MID in every branch. Normally, you place a MID in each data center or in any isolated network zone. A single MID can handle thousands of devices if the network is reachable. For branches, if devices can be reached from the data center, they can be discovered from there. Install a MID only if the branch is on an isolated network.
Process:
Deploy MID Server(s) in the right network segments (at least one per data center).
Work with the network team to gather IP ranges (subnets of data centers and branches).
Configure credentials in ServiceNow (Windows, SSH, SNMP, DB, etc.).
Create Discovery schedules for those IP ranges.
Run Discovery → devices are classified and stored as CIs in CMDB.
