Why choice type field is empty even when default choice option is set for the field?

Hi Community,

There are few records in which choice type field value is empty but the default value is set to 'Current'. I'm not able to understand how this records got created.

I tried creating the record with background script & found that it's value set to Current only when not providing any value through script.

 

I'm not able to troubleshoot that how these records have Entity Status as empty.

Hi @Ankita Kolhe,

 

Default value is applied only when there is no value specified and during the creation only. Maybe someone created the records and then updated the field? Or the default value was set after these records were created?
