Workflow Approvals are Grayed Out

Hi,

I'm running through Exercise 11 of the Developer lab and need to create a workflow.   However, none of the Approval - * are available under the Core tab.   I'm sure it's something I am doing wrong just not sure what.

This is the form for the table in the workflow above.

Also, I can Checkout and add Approval - * to other workflows.   The table in question above "Equipment Request" is extending the Task table.

Check the Approval Engines for the table you are running your workflow (System Properties > Approval Engines).



If approval engine is turned on for that table, the approval activities will be greyed out.

What is your approval engine on that table ?   Turn approval engines off


Sigma, what I was saying was, I'm having the same problem Aiping has. When I select Turn Engines Off, and click on Save, it reverts immediately to "Approval rules". I have Approval, Approval History etc as David G mentioned above. Chuck T mentioned I can hard code the property. As a beginner I'm not sure how to do that, or where, but perhaps I'll figure it out.

In order to change the Approval engine status to "Turn engines off", you have to change your application scope to 'global' before committing any changes. It works for me, i hope it will for you as well.......

Make sure you put your approval user activity in the right position(the line will turn blue) before dropping it on the field. 
Had the same issue, the manager option was greyed out but once I closed dragged the approval user again onto the workflow editor and made sure the line was blue I was able to select manager.
