Asset Indoor Map

I made a custom asset. However, it is not appearing in asset indoor map when the stock servicenow demo asset appears. What do I need to check to make it appear?

Hi Buddy,

 This usually happens when the custom asset doesnt meet the specific requirements Indoor Maps looks for. The demo assets work because they follow the OOTB asset model and configuration.

I would recommend checking the custom asset:

  • Extends the correct OOTB asset table (for example, alm_asset)

  • Has the correct Location, Building, Floor, and Space populated

  • Has been explicitly placed on the indoor map (not just assigned to a floor)

  • Is in an active/valid asset state and not filtered out

Indoor Maps wont really automatically display custom asset records unless they match the supported asset classes and are properly positioned on the map
