Determining Performance & Engagement on Content Experiences

We are launching Employee Center Pro and will be leveraging the Content Experiences widget to communicate company events, culture, strategy, etc. Our Internal Communications team would like to track clicks at the individual record level to understand engagement (are users clicking the carousel buttons? are they clicking the action buttons? how much time is spent on the landing page?). I've been looking at Content Analytics but I'm not quite sure if that is specific to the content or just the widget. Does anyone have experience with this that they can please share?
