Hello @ShaktiRolen ,

I understand that you're currently facing issues with your PDI, and it seems like you're not alone in this situation. Several users have encountered similar challenges, and I wanted to provide you with some insights and suggestions based on the shared experiences.

  1. Data Center Migration:

    • There seems to be an ongoing data center migration for PDIs, as mentioned in the ServiceNow announcements. It's possible that your instance is affected by this, causing temporary unavailability.
  2. Limited Support:

    • Unfortunately, PDIs come without official support. However, the community has shared some potential solutions and workarounds.
  3. Backup Your Work:

    • It's crucial to regularly back up your work to prevent any data loss. Instances can go offline or be reclaimed without notice, so having a backup ensures you don't lose important information.
  4. Options to Consider:

    • Waiting: Instances may come back online after some time. If the downtime is related to the data center migration, it could be temporary.
    • Requesting a New PDI: If waiting becomes impractical, you can release your existing instance and request a new installation. Keep in mind that this results in the loss of any data not backed up.
  5. Stay Informed:

    • Check official announcements from ServiceNow for updates on data center migrations or PDI-related issues. The developer blog link shared by some users might contain important information.
  6. Community Support:

    • Since there's no official support for PDIs, engaging with the ServiceNow community forums can be beneficial. Others might share their experiences and potential solutions.

I hope these insights help you navigate through the current challenges with your PDI. If you have any further questions or if there are updates from ServiceNow, please feel free to share them with the community.

Please Mark Correct if this solves your query and also mark 👍Helpful if you find my response worthy based on the impact.

Thanks,

Aniket

Hi there,

Same answer as on the hundreds of others in the previous months:

These free PDIs come without any support. We all can't help you on this. The only thing you can do is wait and hope the instance gets back, or... request a new one.

Always backup your work, since PDIs suddenly - without notice - can get offline or even gone forever.

I don't know if this applies to you, though it could ofcourse also have to do with the datacentre issues which ServiceNow communicated. See for example:
"Action Required: We are migrating our PDI Infrastructure to a new data center. See our developer blog for more details and instructions for backing up."

Kind regards,

Hi @ShaktiRolen

Is it an old or a new PDI?

Not sure if you have seen this announcement by Servicenow, if your PDI belonged to old datacenter, it will be reclaimed and you will have to request for a new PDI.

For more details go through blog below:
https://www.servicenow.com/community/developer-blog/important-update-pdi-infrastructure-migration-ex...

I understand your frustation as well, I lost my PDI of 5 years.
As we know, PDIs are just a free service we are using, and Servicenow long back has mentioned the instance can be lost due to unavoidable circumstances so we need to take the backup of your instance regularly.

This is very inconvenient and unfortunate, but at this moment we can't do anything, all you can do is to request a new PDI and keep backups going forward. Refer to the link to how to backup your instance:

Best Regards
Aman Kumar
