Mega menu doesn't mirror taxonomy in employee portal

Hi there, 

I set up a new topic in taxonomy (parent employee), and it appears on the portal but not on the mega menu. 

There's content associated to it as well as a child topic.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

yet, it doesn't show up in the mega menu. You can see it does appear on the portal with the catalog item connected to it

Hi @MarinaN ,
According to your screenshots taxonomy  "Employee" added under Employee center Portal .But  you have to add child topic under Taxonomy then only it will show  properly.
Add "Human resources" under Employee taxonomy .

Then you can add Benefit, Onboarding, Pay and Time  HR System under child Topics of Human Resources as attached screenshot.

You can follow OOB configuration will get idea,
