Omit empty knowledge categories on esc_knowledge_home page on ESC portal

On esc_knowledge_home  page, we see that KB Categories - KBv3 widget displays empty categories or non-published.

 

There is a property (glide.knowman.show_only_populated), but this property applies only to Knowledge v2 pages.

 

Since we use esc_knowledge_home  page, we want to omit empty categories or non-published on Knowledge v3 pages as welll.  Anyone experienced this?

What did you end up doing? Because the thread says its not possible to apply user criteria on knowledge categories. For our case, we do not want to create to separate KB's for this
