I created a record producer and in the name variable i added reference to sys_user table and set default value to javascript:gs.getUserID(); , the name is auto populated when i open the record producer in service catalog but is not populating in ESC portal , I also tried it with client script but is not populating in both cases .
When i change it to not mandatory then I am able to search the user to add user but its not auto populating with default value.

Can you click on i icon as shown below.
Once you click that icon you will get below popup
Check for title or open the record in platform and check for name field as well. If its blank then try to fill some value.
