Customization should undergo a formal review and documentation process. Submissions should required to include the following components:

• Business Justification: A detailed explanation of the specific requirements that cannot be met by Out-of-the-Box (OOB) functionality, and a comprehensive description of the features and capabilities the customization will provide.

• OOB Feature Gap Analysis: An inventory of existing OOB features that are similar to the request, including an evaluation of why they are insufficient.

• Comparative Mockups: Visual representations comparing:

  • The proposed customization.

  • The OOB interface enhanced solely through CSS or native configuration.

• Regression Testing Protocol: A defined plan for full regression testing to be executed during post-upgrade cycles.

#1 - Security - Make sure to have proper access control checks on server side logic.
#2 - Proper Placing/reference - If you decide to build one, make sure to add/reference it on appropriate pages without disturbing existing functionality.
