Hi @Sathwik1 ,
APN makes it easy to manage taxonomies, topics, sub-topics,SP Menu - all in one place. It also helps in the navigation. Lets say you xyz portal and one esc portal, via APN it will be easier for you to go the portal manage the taxonomies for the same.

As of now, our portal is not there in this table, and when we do some modifications to taxonomy it was not reflecting in the portal? why so? each topic has a child content.. still why thoise are not visible in portal?

Consider it a pre-requisite step before taxonomy shows up. If you have created a new taxonomy with (topics and subtopics...) firstly you need to add this to the portal record .Once you have it on the portal record then you need to add them in the APN.
Benefit: You can edit/add/delete the topics from this record .
Also, lets say the portal exists on APN Record and so does taxonomy, the chances are it still wont show up on the portal and to cater this you need to click SYNC Hierarchy button on the APN Record.

Thanks for your explanation, can you confirm onething.. so it is mandatory to have a record in the "Advanced Portal Navigation" table when we want to use Taxonomy on the ESC Portal right? @Twinkle S
