Hi everyone,
I am currently testing the OOB Manager Hub “View As Employee” functionality and I am seeing behavior that I am not sure is expected.
Environment
* Manager Hub (OOB)
* Employee Center Pro
* OOB page: ec_view_as_kb
* OOB widgets (no customizations)
What I have already verified
* The manager has the required Manager Hub / HR roles.
* The employee correctly reports to the manager.
* view_as_user is being passed in the URL when opening the article.
* Required Manager Hub properties have been enabled.
* Knowledge Bases are associated to the portal.
* No customizations have been made to the OOB widgets or pages.
Scenario
I have a manager located in France and an employee located in the US.
The employee has access to knowledge articles through User Criteria such as “US Employee Only”.
When I impersonate the employee directly, the employee can see and open the article without any issue.
However, when I use View As Employee from Manager Hub:
* If I am logged in as admin, the functionality works correctly. I can see the articles available to the employee and open them successfully.
* If I am logged in as the actual manager, I do not get the same result. The manager only appears to see articles that the manager itself has access to. Articles that are available only to the employee are either not shown or return “You do not have sufficient privileges to access this knowledge item.”
Based on the OOB design, my expectation is that View As Employee should allow the manager to see the same knowledge experience as the selected employee.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? how can i fix this issue?
Is there any additional configuration required for Manager Hub View As Employee with Knowledge, or is it expected that the logged-in manager must also satisfy the article/KB User Criteria?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
EG only articles that the manager is available to see are displayed. manager from France employee from US i want to see an us article created an has a can read criteria only us employee when i impersonate the us employee i can see the article but not with the view as employee functionality only if I'm an admin
