Are individually licensed components of ServiceNow considered platform applications?

I am having difficulty with the interpretation of a platform application with respect to Architecture type.

I read the example in Management of business applications (servicenow.com) which leads me to believe that any component (a.k.a. module) of ServiceNow that my company purchased a license for would be a platform application under the platform host ServiceNow. Is this an accurate analysis of the intent in the article?

Hi Karen,

yes, CSDM and APM practice has recommended that licensed modules such as APM, Software Asset Management, HRSD and so forth be modeled as Platform Applications.  See the following examples.
