Auto refresh asssessable records scheduled EA assessments

Hi,

I hope someone can clear this up for me.

Recently our yearly schedules assessments for business applications went out and unfortunately the list of assessable records did not reflect the current situation, but was the same as the previous one. I suspect that this had to do with the conditions that you set in the Metric type and/or metric category.

On which level do you need to set conditions for business applications for assessable records to auto refresh for scheduled assessments? Whats the difference in behavior?

* Metric Type

*Metric Category

* Both

The documentation : Create metric types and generate assessable records states that the system creates an assessable record each time a new matching record is created.

Does the system only create assessable records or also delete records that no longer meet the conditions set in the previous question?

Thank you.

Hi @fibssy

If both contain the filter then as with other survey filters (and other dynamic filters like Entity filters in IRM) it needs the most up to date condition in order to generate the correct records. As with other filters, you should expect that any assessable record that no longer matches the filter will be cancelled.

However, further down on the linked page it includes this:

Note: If you change the table or conditions, you must click Generate Assessable Records to create new assessable records.

This suggests that assessments must be manually triggered when you change the conditions.

I hope this helps!

Mat

When i have worked with it over the past several years, i remove all the old ones (from categories as well as the metric itself) and then re-generate the assessable records and user associations.

Its a pain but by controlling it, you know what you get rather than surprises.

Smart Assessments,  the new functionality for assessments now being incorporated in IRM/GRC will make their way into Enterprise Architecture late this year or  next and hopefully improve these issues.
