Enterprise Architecture Performance/Platform Analytics Application Indicators

Greetings all,

I am trying to educate myself on all the features and functionality within Enterprise Architecture. I am looking at the different types of Application Indicators available: Assessments (Surveys), Query Conditions, Indicators (nested), Custom Script, and Performance Analytics. I have a decent understanding of how all the different types of Application Indicators work except for the Performance Analytics type. I did find an article that some of these Application Indicators have been deprecated and are no longer recommended. However, I'm struggling to walk through the beginning to end process of how the Scores are generated differently than a regular PA Score result.

I'm looking at the Out of the box Application Indicator "Number of Incidents via Service". I see in the Datasource Configuration that this is using the "Number of new incidents" Indicator and has a Default breakdown of "Business Application via Service".

Is anybody familiar enough with how these generates Scores [apm_apm_score] for Business Application records?

Hi @lpruit2

I’m just about to publish a guide on this very topic. If you hang tight for a few days I’ll link to it here once posted.

I’ve not seen anything about application indicators being deprecated - only the legacy module is deactivated in favour of EA Workspace. Could you provide a link?

I hope this helps!

Here is a link to another article from Mark Castoe that talks about some of the Retired indicators.

Hi,

As you have already explored, there are multiple indicators to evaluates Business Application on multiple attributes. These each indicaor generate score for specific attributes of Business Application such as Customer Satisfaction Score.

I think you are exploring more about CI Score ( apm_app_score) for Business Application. It consolidates overall score of a Business Application for a specific time period ( Fiscal Period ). This consolidation has been done using Score Profile. One can define scoring profile, select set of indicators, theire respective weitages and attach it to Business Application records to calauate overall CI score.

There is scheduled job that periodically calculate indiactor score, refer scoring profile and generate CI scores
