Enterprise Architecture, specifically the TPM and TRM modules within it, no longer rely upon Software Models for any specific functionality in EA. There are a couple interactions however that do "associate" with Software Models.
TPM will show the Software Model associated to a Software Discovery Model in the TPM LIfecycle list under EA Workspace but it is essentially informational. All life cycles come from the Software Product LIfecycle table and are located by a heuristic algorithm based on the version info in the Software Discovery Model.
Software Models that match to a particular TRM Product (via Software Product) will show a recommendation based upon the TRM Product Phase telling the user the SW Model should have Certified or Restricted flags set. A new Software Model created, with a version or not, that matches a TRM Product not allowed in Production, will be marked as Restricted (Blacklisted). Configuration of the system will determine if the SW Model looks at just the TRM Product or examines version specific TRM lifecycles.
