how to set up RECURRENCE in capacity management

Hi team,
Trying to get my head around ''recurrence'' - has anyone used it,  can give me an example of use case and configuration for it?

JoshuaChenFX_0-1745704115873.png
- nowlearning demo does not mention this field (it's from washington) → i am on Yokohoma

- product doc is unclear Create a capacity assignment

  • says field ''repeat for'' only appears if capacity by = tasks, but i tested = hours, and it also shows up
  • if i put repeat for 100 days, it adds 100 days to the Effective from, and populate Effective to → that makes sense, meaning my assignment is only valid for 100 days
  • now what is ''reccurence'' about?  below there are 3 examples, How do you configure this?
  • what is the diffrence betwen repeat_count on cmn_schedule_span for recurrence (it refers that able), and the repeat for on capacity assignemnt?

Hi Joshua,

  • Repeat For” = basic repeat over consecutive days (good for short-term or fixed-day needs).

  • Recurrence” (Schedule Span) = flexible pattern-based repeat (good for skipping weekends, custom patterns).

  • Use Schedule Span when working with variable weekly patterns or holidays.

  • Use Repeat For when you just need to copy capacity across a time window quickly.
