Issue with forecasting work orders

Dear Community.

We are currently implementing FSM for a customer. The customer has purchased the professional version, and we are trying to understand the whole process from the moment we create a work plan:

Create a Work plan (Make sure that the 'forecast work order' checkbox is true) > Planned Work Schedule (Choose a trigger and define the fields) > The related list tabs are automatically updated (Planned work records, schedule occurences, work orders).

The issue we have, is related to the field: "Days in future to create Work Orders" in the Planned Work Schedule record. If we f.i. type 365 in this field, then scheduled occurences and work orders for the next year is automatically created based on the trigger we choose (Daily, weekly, annually, etc.).

We wish to achieve a situation where the scheduled occurences is generated as before, but we don't wish the same for the work orders. We only want the system to generate the next work orders (Not for the whole year).

I'm having the same issue. On the Work Plan I have the forecast work orders checked and the task creation policy is 'leave alone' (which I thought meant WOs wouldn't be generated until the previous cycle was completed/closed). On the Planned Work Schedule I have a trigger type of Weekly, due every Friday at 5pm, Lead time is 7 and Days in future is 60. I'm getting a WO for every week for the next 60 days. I only want to see the forecast for the next 60 days and WOs to be generated 7 days before they are due. Did you get any clarity on this you could share?

curious - why don't you want the WO to be created?

if you set ''days in the future = 7'' does it also only create occurrences for 7 days?

The schedule is created for a work plan. The Schedule Occurrences related list is added to the schedule to track the occurrence of maintenance cycles for the schedule.

The schedule occurrences are created automatically for duration-based schedules.

However, if a different trigger option is selected for a schedule, the occurrence is created only when the specified condition or meter value is met.

- The creations of schedule occurrences depend on the effective end date.

- If no effective end date is specified, the application generates the next occurrence of the schedule.
