ServiceNow approach for updating building-specific maintenance info

Good morning,

 

What is the ServiceNow way to handle this business requirement?

 

Business Operations must be able to update tenant information when viewing a selected structure/building to record building-specific important maintenance information including observations, special conditions, issues, and actions taken.

 

I was thinking of creating a custom field in the cmn_location table, but I was wondering if there was a better approach to do this.

Hi ebarrette, I just wanted to confirm that you are responding to the AI response that suggests creating a new table that extends task?

 

If you model your buildings as virtual assets you could place notes on that record as well as associate it to any downstream tasks, like work order tasks and questionnaires for audit purposes.

Hi EBarrette,

Could you describe what the context of Tenant Information is?

How are users intended to view a selected structure/building?

Are they being dispatched in FSM to do an inspection?

These notes would likely be on the Work Order Task associated to the Asset or Location.

You could create Work Plans based on location and bundle and send them out to be executed depending on entitlements. If your customer has Impact it would be a good question and conversation with the team.
