What is the main difference between red star and black star while making mandatory field?

I want to ask about red and black star while making field as a mandatory. What is the main difference between them?

Hi @Naveed_Hussain 

Basically a star indicates a mandatory field. A star becomes black if the contains a value and it is red if the field is still empty.

Hi, is there a way to keep the asterisk red color even if there prefilled value?  For example, the first value of a mandatory variable with a Lookup Select Box has a value of "Select One".  The asterisk is black, but I need it to be red even if there is a prefilled value for this mandatory variable.
