Apptio integration ticket status available as approved , how to get Work in progress state

In servicenow  for the request record, we have  state and request_state fields , we are using apptio integration , there  we have ticket status as approved  which is coming from the request_state field.  My requirement is whenever task is work in progress, then ritms gets updated to WIP, request  record state field also get updated to WIP . but Request_state we do not have option as WIP. request_state will be updated on the ticket status as  apptio integration. Could you please suggest us the best way to do it.
