Hi community,
I'm working on implementing the Business Continuity Management product in ServiceNow and I have a question.
When creating an exercise there are 4 Exercise methods that can be selected:
- Simulation
- Tabletop
- Walkthrough
- Functional
However, according to the documentation, the Event Tasks tab is only displayed in the BCM workspace when 'Functional' is selected as the exercise method.
My question is... Why? What is the value of creating an exercise in the BCM app for the other 3 exercise methods?
I'm just trying to understand the rationale...

Hi @Matt Forder ,
That statement is absolutely correct!!
If you look at what these methods are all about, you will find apart from Functional rest all deals with Plans which you will find in the plans Tab not with Event Tasks.
Only Functional Method deals with Event Tasks where you can add Ad-hoc tasks, however rest of the method uses Plans where you can add adhoc plans and existing Plans.
- Simulation: An environment that simulates an actual disaster with necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel.
- Tabletop: An exercise done in a room with a team analyzing over the plan, looking for gaps.
- Walkthrough: Each member of the team walks through a component of the plan in detail to identify weaknesses.
- Functional: Option to include ad hoc tasks that are not part of a plan.

@Community Alums any idea on how we can have event tasks tab for rest of the exercise methods?
