Combining Smart Assessments (combine your assessments into a single submission)

Hi! I am experimenting with the Smart Assessment feature in Xanadu. It appears that there is still a constraint that in order to combine assessments, they must all be from the same Assessment template. I do not see this specified anywhere in the documentation. Can you please confirm that this constraint still exists?

Reference: Combine your assessments into a single submission

Our use case is the need to assess multiple controls (each with a corresponding smart assessment template) against a single entity. The entity owner should be able to combine the assessments for each of these controls and respond to them all at a single time. I thought that we would be able to do this using the new SAE features, but I'm not having any luck.

Any advice on how to efficiently assess multiple controls against a single entity where the entity owner owns the respective controls associated with their entity?

Hi Michelle,

Yes, we have a constraint that only assessments from the same template can be combined.

For your use case, if you use a different template for each control, it will not be possible to combine those assessments.

However, if your questions are similar across all templates, you could create a common template to assess all controls, with 'Control' as a target for that template. Then, when triggering an assessment for a particular control, you can set that control record as the 'Scope item' for the assessment.

OK - thank you for the feedback. This is disappointing. I think you should update your documentation about the Smart Assessment Engine to make this clear.

To add, this 'combine' action should be available across all grc use-cases. Why was it only developed for attestations?
