Entity owner and control owner not populating from Entity Filter

Hi,
I have a very simple entity filter on the sys user table for a proof of concept I'm demoing. The filter conditions look for specific users in the organisation (this works and creates entities for each one). However, the owner isn't getting populated. Screenshot attached of the config setup. Each user has a manager on their user record, and if they don't it should use the default. This isn't happening and just shows as empty. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

It depends on from where or which table you are pulling these entities. Make sure you have the owner dettails up there.

Could you let me know when the entity owner is not filled? Is it when a user record does not have a manager? or is it when the user record has a manager assigned?
Make sure the Manager or the default Owner is active
Can you also share the filter used against the User table?
