Hi Everyone,
I've received an email notification referring to the scheduled job has identified inactive entities. When you open the link, it will go directly to the list of entities (that are active). And so I just typed in "Inactive Entities" in Service Now, and found few entities that are inactive (Take note that these entities are not mapped to anything). My question is, how did it run a scheduled job on these entities when it's inactive?

Hi @jajay ,
The scheduled job will run as per the Defined "Repeat interval" on the Scheduled job itself regardless of whether the entity is inactive or active.
In your case the particular scheduled job ran as per the schedule and resulted in this notification which you have attached showing the provided entities are inactive.

Hi janellgail,
Scheduled job won't run on inactive entities.
"GRC Cleanup Invalid Profiles and entity type" is scheduled job which triggered that notification. This scheduled job will run every day and deactivate entities which are not pointing to any record. If it finds at least one such record, It deactivates and sends the notification. Notification content is dynamic it always shows all inactive entities.
Please let me know if you need any further help here.
Thanks,
Naveen

Hi Naveen,
What would be the best solution for this? should we just delete those inactive assets so that it won't trigger any scheduled job in the future? Since these entities are inactive and is not pointing to any record, Is it the best solution?
Thank you so much!

Hi @jajay,
It's not about the existing inactive entities. This notification get's triggered only if any entities are deactivated again. If you don't want the notification please deactivate the notification.
