The Risk Assessment Methodology is a configuration (a record) in the new risk assessment engine. It is part of the Advanced Risk application.
The Risk Assessment Methodology (RAM) is used for assessing either the risks or objects in your organization. A RAM is configured to specify the types of risk assessments and the entities on which risk assessment is performed. A configured RAM is an object with associated assessment types that have associated factors.
This allows an organization to have different methodologies for assessing risk. They can have different processes and approached based on the scenario. Think...BIA, RCSA, PRCSA, Application assessment, site assessment, the possibilities are endless. What you are seeing now is the introduction of a new engine that will have multiple uses over time.
