This Article will help familiarize you with what Talent Development is offering and guide you to resources on features and capabilities.
The growing skills shortage and employee demand for continuous learning is pressuring businesses and HR leaders to rethink the way they train and develop talent. Seventy‑seven percent of employers report difficulty in filling roles—the biggest skills gap in 17 years.1
To help leaders better meet the needs of their workforce while optimizing for the future of work, Talent Development is generally available in our Vancouver release. EGD uses AI to collect, validate, and continuously update employee skills data, giving leaders greater visibility and insight into workforce capabilities so they can make smarter talent decisions that fuel business growth.
New in ServiceNow’s Vancouver release, employees can create customized and trackable growth plans that align their skills development to career ambitions and share these growth plans with their managers. Employees can define career aspirations, explore career options, and self‑drive career progression through guided actions. AI‑powered recommendations and proactive prompts foster more informed career conversations between managers and employees and empower employees to take ownership of their career development all from a single career hub.
Organizational success is dependent upon the ability to utilize the skills of your workforce and connect them with the needs of the organization, to optimize performance and help employees find meaningful connection to their work. Combining employee skills and strengths with the right work at the right time requires an AI-augmented experience that goes beyond skills visualization to intelligently connect skills to actions. ServiceNow Talent Development delivers a single platform that gives organizations the ability to act on insights rather than instinct. Through the power of dynamic AI-driven technology, and backed by the ServiceNow Platform, Talent Development empowers you to develop data-driven talent management strategies. These strategies enable you to predict, identify, and develop skills that will have the greatest impact on the business and close talent gaps.
Talent Development will provide the intelligence and experience layers to sit on top of the other HR systems that organizations already own to unify & enhance these systems further. The Skills Intelligence Platform, the technology acquired from the Hitch acquisition, will provide the foundational layer powering capabilities in Talent Development.
At ServiceNow we provide the system of engagement layer needed to drive employee and manager adoption with tools that we already provide – Employee Center, Manager Hub, etc. ServiceNow also provides insights and actions in the flow of work via systems of action such as Microsoft Teams and SMS.
All in all, our customers get:
- A Single Platform for a Unified Employee Experience across all needs in their employees' career growth and development journey, brought into their flow of work via multiple channels.
- A Skills Intelligence Platform, infrastructure & AI to support all areas in your employees' career growth and development journey.
With Talent Development, all of these different pieces will fit together with ServiceNow at the center of this virtuous circle for how employees, managers, executives and the company will grow and create better efficiencies.

Thanks @amrithaanayak . I have a question( i have not gone through the entire modules and capabilities yet). Looks like this module connects HR space as well, but is offered as a separate module. Is there a reason to have it as a separate module.?

@PaulSylo EGD supports employee development, internal mobility, offers AI-powered skills data capabilities and is focused on internal talent, whereas HRSD focuses on the administrative side of HR.
