What is the maximum threshold that can be filled in, and is there a clear maximum limit？

Yes, you can.

I personally think there is no restrict for the value so you can set value you want to achieve based on your environment but you might face performance issues when exporting a large table.

Break up a large export is recommended when the number of records to be exported exceeds the actual export limit.

it depends on combination of number of columns you are including and the number of rows
