Hi all,
We are preparing to import our meeting room assets (e.g., TV screens, speakers, sound bars, etc.) into HAM.
I'm wondering how each type of equipment should be classified within the Resource Category.
My assumption is that speakers and sound bars would be classified as Hardware, with a subscription unit ratio of 1:1.
What about TV screens? Should they also be classified as Hardware, or can they be added under Monitor instead?
I'd appreciate any guidance on the recommended categorisation.

Hi @VickiL,
In Hardware Asset Management (HAM), the Resource Category should align with how your organization classifies and manages hardware assets.
For meeting room equipment
- TV screens can be modeled as Monitor if your organization treats them as display devices.
- Speakers and Sound Bars are typically managed as Hardware assets.
If these devices are tracked individually, create a corresponding Hardware Model and Asset record for each device.
ServiceNow recommends using the standard OOTB hardware models and categories where they meet your business requirements, and only extending them when necessary.

Hi @VickiL,
You can also install the following Store App CMDB CI Class Models and see if there is something in for you.
Hope this helps!
