Search or an Assets

I am trying to find an asset, but I don't know anything about it.  I know at one point it was assigned to a user, but it's not assigned to that user anymore.  How can I search the history of my assets.  Activity for the asset would show it was assigned to a user at some point, can that be searched.  Or a way to search "assigned to" history.

Try any way among the below 4 ways:
1. Activity Log : In the Asset Management module, go to the required asset using serial no. or any other info and in activity log check logs for assigned to history.
2. Audit History. Follow above process and instead of logs right click on navigator of the asset record and check audit history.
3. Creating a Report: If need history of multiple asset then create new report on "alm_asset" table and add filter conditions on required asset by adding columns such as Asset Tag, Model, Serial Number, and Assigned To.
4. Using List View: In asset management module, personalize the list and add columns like assigned to, updated and add filter for required asset and updated date.

As I indicated in the question.  I have no information on the Asset, that would include serial numbers.  All I know is the asset at one point in its life was assigned to an Employee, what status it holds now is unknown.   Another way to think of this is how to find the user history for all assets that had been assigned to a user at some point.

Perhaps if I rephrase the question.  I basically want to search the User's History of any Active or In-Active user to see what assets had been assigned to them, not just what is currently assigned to them.
