Hi
We are planning to go live with our ServiceNow instance in a couple months and we are a healthcare entity.
I am hoping other organizations can recommend software they use to wipe PHI out of their ServiceNow instance.

Hi Atul,
Basically what we did in Incident was created a new tab that only fulfillers with a certain role could access. They would access the tab by clicking on a UI action to make the tab visible. In order to make it auditable when someone accesses this information, we have a work note added to the activity history stating that "<first name> <last name> has viewed the PHI tab". We have the similar note added when someone views attachments on incidents since attachments could contain PHI as well. If you would like to see specific scripts we used, I'm happy to setup a meeting to go through them with you.
We actually removed the scripts that prevents fulfillers from entering PHI in certain fields since it is only required that there are labels in place reminding fulfillers not to enter PHI in fields that are not meant for PHI. We still have the restrictions in place on our incident form on the Portal though. We no longer allow end users to email ServiceNow to create incidents so we don't need to scrub emails anymore but we still have the rules in place.

I'm particularly interested in the scripts that you have for preventing users from entering PHI data in non-PHI fields. I see below that you have discontinued that practice but I think it would work well for one of my customers. Appreciate it very much!
