Employee Journeys, now native in EmployeeWorks
Feature Spotlight
ServiceNow EmployeeWorks is the new AI front door for the enterprise — a next-generation, AI-powered employee experience where you simply describe what you need, and it gets done. Built for the enterprise, it's connected to your systems, governed by your policies, and personalized to every employee's role and context.
Previously, the EC Pro portal was the only front-end experience for Journeys, requiring EmployeeWorks customers to switch portals to interact with them.
That disconnect ends today. Employee Journeys for EmployeeWorks Web App brings Journey Designer and Lifecycle Events natively into EmployeeWorks, so journeys live exactly where employees already are.
This blog covers the following:
-What's new with Employee Journeys for EmployeeWorks
-What it means to existing Journeys customers
-How to get started with this new experience
What's new with Employee Journeys for EmployeeWorks
- A journeys widget, right on the homepage
- A journey list page – to see the full view of everything in motion
- A journey detail page – that shows the entire journey
- Tasks, wherever employees already look
I. A journeys widget, right on the homepage
Employees now see their journeys the second they land on the EmployeeWorks homepage. No searching, no separate portal — just a widget showing what's in motion.
- Employees see their own journeys at a glance.
- Managers see their team's journeys too, so they can spot who's mid-onboarding, who's wrapping up a role transition, and who might need a nudge — without leaving their own homepage.

II. A journey list page – to see the full view of everything in motion
Beyond the homepage widget, a dedicated journey list page gives employees and managers a full view of every journey — past, present, and upcoming — in one place. No more piecing together status from emails or separate task lists. This page can be opened by clicking arrow on the top right of the journey widget.

III. A journey detail page – that shows the entire journey
Click into any journey, either from home widget or list page, and the journey detail page lays out everything that matters. The detail page gives a fresh journey view in EmployeeWorks with the following components:
- Journey header — what journey this is and where it stands
- Progress bar — a clear visual of how far along the journey is. For Manager there will be two separate progress bar, for individual & overall progress
- Up next — the priority tasks, front and center, so there's never a question of what to do next
- Overview — the shape of the whole journey, stages and their respective tasks
- Activity — a running log of what's happened so far
- Files — everything attached to the journey, in one spot

IV. Tasks, wherever employees already look
Journey-related tasks now show up directly in the EmployeeWorks Inbox. These tasks can also be navigated via journey detail page. And when it's time to actually complete a task, employees do it right on the task record page, without bouncing to another system.

What it means to existing Journeys customers
If you're using Journeys with Lifecycle Events, nothing breaks and nothing needs rebuilding. Journey records also appear in the same unified view — on the homepage widget, the journey list page, and the journey detail page — so employees and managers see everything in one place. Your existing Lifecycle Events & Journey Accelerator configurations carry over with zero reconfiguration.
If you're running only Lifecycle Events, nothing breaks and nothing needs to be migrated to Journey Designer. Lifecycle event cases now auto appear right alongside journeys — same widgets, same card layout — so employees and managers get one unified list regardless of which fulfilment type an HR service happens to use. Your existing Lifecycle Events configurations carry over with zero reconfiguration.
Note- Standalone Lifecycle Event cases won't appear in the My Requests tab of the EmployeeWorks Inbox. That's because the new EmployeeWorks widgets and pages already provide a unified view that includes these LE case tasks.
