Activity Set is completing even though Activity is still open in Playbook

Hi Everyone,

I am facing a issue in Playbook in HR Agent Workspace. I have a activity set that contains 2 activities one is HR task and other is flow. But once the activities are triggered it is only showing one activity in the Playbook which is the HR task and the flow is not showing up (which is the expected behavior).

The issue am facing is even though the activity of flow type is still open...the activity set is getting completed once the activity of HR task type is getting completed.

Can anyone help me in understanding if its the expected behavior or else what needs to be configured to avoid this issue?

Hi Sweta,

This is expected behavior. It's the same behavior as with tasks that are created as ''optional''.
In the task template you can select 'optional' and even though they are still triggered, the activity set is not waiting for them to proceed. The same logic applies to the flows.

This is also because the playbook cannot see if the flow is completed or not. That logic is not build-in.
So, all flows are applied as 'optional' to not stop the progress.

Thanks for replying @Wessel van Enk ,

Just curious to know like can you tell me where it is configured? Like in playbook configuration where we can view this configuration that is responsible for this behavior?

Sure! If you go into your lifecycle event and open one of the activities, check if an HR template is assigned to the activity. If so, open the HR template and there you find a field ''Optional''. If set to true, it will use this behavior.

Thanks @Wessel van Enk ,

However, this optional field is applicable when activity is of HR task type or has any HR template associated with it right?

For activity that is of flow type which is not showing up in playbook as its getting treated as optional, is there any configuration related to that which is making the playbook treat it as optional?
