Hi everyone!! I am new to ServiceNow and ATF . I am planning to create an ATF test for HR case Creation. Currently I do have  atf_test_admin , atf_test_designer roles but I am not able to see some roles in the dropdown like sn_hr_core.case_writer.” while creating a user. Do I need ServiceNow admin access? Please advise and thanks in advance.

Hi @VEATHAKO ,

You don't need admin access, it's sn_hr_core.basic role is sufficient.

Hello Sandeep,

Thanks for your quick response. I got the sn_hr_core.basic role access but still I am not able to view the role

sn_hr_core.case_write  in the role search option in the drop down. What is preventing me from seeing the specific role and looks like all sn_hr roles are hidden due to some lack of permissions. Please advise.

Hi @VEATHAKO ,
I trust you are doing great.

The "sn_hr_core.case_writer" role is a specialized role in the ServiceNow HR module that allows a user to create HR cases. To assign this role to a user, you will need ServiceNow admin access.

To give a user the "sn_hr_core.case_writer" role, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to ServiceNow with an account that has admin access.
  2. Open the user record for the user you want to assign the role to.
  3. In the "Roles" related list, click "Edit."
  4. In the "Roles" pop-up window, search for "sn_hr_core.case_writer."
  5. Select the role and click "Add."
  6. Click "Save" to save the changes to the user record.

After the "sn_hr_core.case_writer" role has been assigned to the user, they should be able to create HR cases in ServiceNow.

Regarding the query on not being able to see some roles in the dropdown while creating a user, it could be due to a variety of reasons such as not having the necessary permissions or the role being restricted to certain users or groups. I suggest reaching out to your ServiceNow administrator or seeking help from the ServiceNow community to resolve this issue.

Here is the official ServiceNow documentation for assigning roles to a user: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/newyork-platform-administration/page/administer/users-and-groups/...

I hope this solution helps!
