E‑bonding between two ServiceNow instances – possibility of sending a ticket back to the source system


Use Case

HR cases in Instance 1 are e‑bonded with IT requests in Instance 2.

  1. In Instance 1, an HRIT Task is created under an HR Case and sent to Instance 2 through e‑bonding.
  2. Instance 2 receives this and creates an RITM.
  3. Instance 2 then sends a success response back to Instance 1, including the RITM reference number.
  4. The RITM is processed by the IT support team working in Instance 2.

Problem

There are scenarios where the IT support team in Instance 2 cannot fulfill the request. In such cases, they want to send the ticket back to the HR team in Instance 1.

 

Question:
Is there a way to send the RITM / HRIT Task back to Instance 1 (the source system) without building a reverse e‑bonding integration?
