How to approve HR Case if 'Approve' option is not available in State field for the Manager

Hi,

A case is sent to the Manager for approval but Manager has the below options available:

I tried to figure out the solution but does 'Configure Choices' the right solution as in that case it doesn't trigger the next action of 'Awaiting Acceptance' or selecting 'Closed Complete' as an option- this does trigger 'Awaiting Acceptance' action but is this the right way? 

 

Kindly guide with the correct way out. Thanks

@shweta khemani Article is referring to the Approve UI Action. You should be able to find this action in the UI Action table. Check what all roles are mentioned on this UI Action.

Hi @shweta khemani , I'm not sure what you are trying to do here, but the case should not be sent to the manager for approval, there should be an Approval Task raised and sent to the manager. Once that task is approved by the manager the system will change the state of the case. Unless you're looking to highly customise something, don't mess with the state choices. Hope this helps.

Hi David,

I have raised a case which seeks Manager'a approval but as a Manager when I login, I am not able to approve the request. Getting the attached security error.

@shweta khemani You are looking at the State field on the HR Case from which isn't the right place to look for Approvals.

 

There are two ways to find approval for this case.

1. Approvals Related list:

OR

 

You can impersonate with the Manager user and find the approvals in the My Approvals section.

I tried using both the Approval ways but the concern is that when I tried to approve the request as a Manager I am receiving the below security error. Can you guide on the way forward.
