How to make an Order Guide item mandatory (not possible to uncheck) in Service Portal – Choose Optio

Hi everyone,

I am working with an Order Guide in Service Portal, and in the Choose Options step, one of the included items ("Set Up User Profile") is displayed with the Include Toggle (Service Portal) enabled.

The business requirement is for this item to be mandatory, meaning:

  • It should always be included in the Order Guide submission.

  • The user should not be able to uncheck/disable it.

Currently:

  • The Order Guide rule includes the item.

  • "Show Include Toggle (Service Portal)" is enabled.

  • Users can toggle the item OFF.

What would be the best practice approach to make this item mandatory?

Hi @ghitabahaj ,

 

To make a Catalog Item within a ServiceNow Order Guide mandatory—meaning it is always included in the submission and the user cannot uncheck/disable it—you must configure the rule base to include it by default.

you cannot control this directly without any customization.

I will recommend to avoid this as it will increase technical debt
