I was wondering if its possible to create HR profiles without creating the related user records.
I think i read something about it but cant find it again.
any pointers will be useful and if you have come across similar requirement then please share your experience.
for some users, there is no real case for keeping a user record therefore exploring option to have only HR profile

Hi @marcn,
By default it's not possible, as the user field on the HR profile table is a mandatory field.
It's also best practice to have a user connected to an HR profile.
But in the past, I have created HR profiles for testing without a user connected to it.
If you remove the mandatory policy on the user field, you can create an HR profile without an existing user connected to it.

Ideally each HR profile should have a user associated.
If HR profile doesn't have user field populated then how will you determine this HR specific data is for which User
It's the responsibility of the business team to ensure there always exist User for any HR profile created.
If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.

Hi @marcn
No, the HR profile must be linked to the User record.
HR profiles should only be created after the User record has been created.
